Gluten-Free Haleem Trays

Quinoa-based · Zabiha Halal · Karachi technique

For guests cooking around wheat, Mr. Haleem offers Gluten-Free Haleem in catering trays — beef and Koozi (chicken). Built on quinoa instead of broken wheat and barley, slow-cooked the same long Karachi way, with hand-pulled Zabiha Halal meat and a desi-ghee tarka at the finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mr. Haleem's gluten-free haleem safe for celiac disease?

Honest answer: no, we cannot call it celiac-safe. The haleem itself is made with gluten-free ingredients (quinoa instead of wheat and barley), but our kitchen also handles wheat for our regular haleem, samosas, naan and broast breading. We cannot guarantee zero cross-contact. If you or a guest has celiac disease or a severe gluten allergy, please call us at (281) 944-5727 before ordering so we can advise on the safest options.

How is the gluten-free version different from regular haleem?

The core change is the grain: we use quinoa in place of the broken wheat and barley that normally goes into haleem. The cooking method (long slow simmer, hand-pulled meat, desi-ghee tarka) and the spice profile stay the same, so the flavor is intentionally close to our regular haleem.

Do you offer single bowls or only trays?

For now Gluten-Free Haleem is offered in catering trays only — Half Tray (serves 12–15) and Full Tray (serves 25–30), in beef or Koozi (chicken). Order at least 1 day in advance; 1 week for parties of 50+.

Is the meat in the gluten-free haleem Zabiha Halal?

Yes — same as our regular haleem. The beef shank and chicken are 100% Zabiha Halal, hand-slaughtered and sourced from certified Houston-area suppliers.
